Trick or treat : It´s Halloween !

So It´s halloween! Time to carve some pumpkins, thinking of making really spooky facial expressions :P,

New York, Simply Amazing !

So I made it to this wonderful breathtaking city. The capital of the world, Gotham City, The Big Apple, The city that never sleeps,  The city so nice they named it twice, the empire city, however you wanna call it, it´s the most diverse city I´ve ever known. There you can find the most diverse people, infinity of histories, places to go, things to do, concluding, a must visit place before you die.  The humongous buildings make you feel wrapped, it´s nice to see those buildings at night, I know now why they call it Gotham City, the resemblance is amazing. The Central Park, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, China Town, The Brooklyn Bridge, Madison Square Garden, among others, are the most interesting places to go in New York City.

DC

There is a lot of stuff to do in DC, besides going to the White House, The Washington Monument and The capitol, there are all kinds of social and cultural things to do in this incredible city. The Smithsonian museums are awesome and the best thing is that they are FREE ! You can find different kind of museums like the Spy Museum, the National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of Natural History, and others.

There is also a good thing about all those places named above, they are close to each other. You can take a tour starting either from The Capitol or the Washington Monument and you will get the chance to know all the museums, the White House, The Abraham Lincoln Memorial, and other places within a day, although one weekend should be enough to know and enjoy those places with no hurry.

Georgetown is also a really nice place, close to DC by walking distance. For those of you who don´t remember, The Exorcist movie making took place there, you can find the famous stairs where the father Damian died, and you can also see the Georgetown University where the father used to go jogging. Besides those interesting facts, Georgetown has a very beautiful architecture, it has an old colonial city look, especially at night, it looks gorgeous.

Baltimore... nah , nothing interesting really

So I went once to Baltimore, there is nothing especial about that city but the Aquarium, they got sharks, sting grays and other sea creatures.

It´s a very industrial city, you can tell for the pollution there. Decks are everywhere, big boats as well..... you can see lots of gulls.

I decided to make a trip in my last month in the US, probably around the West Coast, so I won´t be traveling outside DC and Maryland area for some time, except New York City and Orlando, which I might visit in the next month.

..getting to know more about american sports

This time, it was the turn for baseball ! I went to Navy Yard Stadium to support Nationals, the DC Baseball team. You know I´m not a big fan of America´s sports, but I gotta say this game was quite an experience:
The game´s dynamic is slow, you don´t have the chance to see some action, but the show is not only about the game itself, the President´s race, ha, it was pretty funny...

This thing takes place during the break time, and you can see the most popular US presidents racing across the baseball field... haha it was hilarious.
The exciting part came in the game´s last move.. the game was tied and the National player who was at the bat hit the ball, allowing the Nationals to score .. the crowd was excited and everyone got off their seats to clap their team´s great job, celebration of victory !

Summer is here !

So it's summer now! It's a nice season, although is just starting, it's supposed to get worse, and I really feel warm enough, but I guess I'll get used to it. Despite the fact I prefer cold than hot weather (In Colombia), I like summer more than winter, everything looks alive, it's holiday season, so everyone is relaxing and having a lot of fun, you can feel a festive vibe everywhere...

American Soccer !

I have gone to a couple of MLS games, supporting DC United,.... it's .... interesting I guess...quite different from South American (the best :P) soccer, it's slow sometimes, and the Joggo Bonito concept is lost, except for some southamerican players currently playing on those teams. Anyway, I really enjoyed the games, especially on the break time, there are like different activities and shows, those things you don't see in Colombia's soccer games! There are also a couple things that called my attention: the soccer field is shorter than the standard size, and you can take a good look at the players from your seat as well, even if you get regular seats, so watching soccer players like Marcelo Gallardo and El mellizo Barros Schelotto was outstanding !
